The Review

The Review:

Her album starts out out with a tribute to love with Once in a Lifetime, which kicks the album off with a bang. It slows down a bit on the next track, Waiting, which gently reminds her love that she is there. It's comfy and a nice cushion after once in a lifetime. Dreamy but not too over the top.
The snippets that come in between are great. Some endear you and one is of what we can hope is a new song for the next album! It's crazy. Sorry if that's sadistic of me, seeing as you have to wait until September, but it's really something you can't help but comment on.
Brig Feltus' album is definitely true to her form. It's eclectic, intimate, and playful at times. If feel like it gives me a peek into different facets of her personality that follow an unspoken timeline.
She shapeshifts from participant to observer and back to participant again. it's like watching a movie, or sneaking a moment beyond a peek hole.
Blindmans Blues is incredible, incredible, incredible. I feel like I'm in a dark alley coated in midnight rain, the fog of cigarette smoke and all manner of night characters listening to it.
The cd starts somewhere in the afternoon slips into the secret places of sunset, alleyways and lounges of midnight then ends somewhere just before sunrise.
I am still hungry at the cd's end but not nearly as hungry as I've been waiting to know an album would actually be coming. The end of this album leaves me hoping we won't have to wait 3 years for the next volume.
I would have liked it if a few more songs were included on the album, but these days it looks like musicians aren't putting much more than 10 tracks or 14-15 at the most on cd's. I guess it's the trend. Guaranteed contender for the repeat button attention on cd players everywhere.
I can't wait to see the videos.
